Anita Tomasevich has captivated audiences across Europe since making her debut recital at just 10 years old. With a broad musical repertoire spanning from Scarlatti and Bach to contemporary works, her performances are distinguished by profound artistry, individuality, and a refined sensitivity to each composer's style, complemented by an impressive stage presence. She studied at the Music Academy in Novi Sad and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, performing in prestigious venues across the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Italy, Russia, and Serbia. A laureate of international competitions, she won first prize at Città di Tortona in Italy and has been featured regularly on Serbian National Radio and Television. Anita has refined her craft under the guidance of esteemed mentors, including Jegor Chugayev, Svetlana Bogino, Yelena Richter, Lazar Berman, György Sándor, Stefan Vladar, and Vladimir Ogarkov, among others.
In 2005, Anita Tomasevich released her debut CD, featuring works by Scarlatti, Chopin, Scriabin, and Prokofiev. However, in 2006, her career as a concert pianist was abruptly halted by a spinal injury. After nearly a decade of recovery, she returned to the stage, earning high praise for her solo and chamber performances across Cyprus, Italy, the Netherlands, England, Denmark, and Germany.
Her second CD, Nocturnal Ballads, recorded with violinist Sorin Alexandru Horlea, was released in 2019, followed by her solo piano album Winter Solstice in 2021, published by the esteemed German label Edition Wandelweiser.
In autumn 2023, her fourth album, Meditations, featuring live recordings from Klangraum Festival, was released digitally, with a physical edition forthcoming. Her latest CD, a collaboration with violinist and violist Sorin Alexandru Horlea, was released in summer 2024 and showcases major works by Dmitri Shostakovich and Sergei Prokofiev.
Anita performed Galina Ustvolskaya's Piano Concerto with the Belgrade Symphony Orchestra "Stanislav Binički" in November 2024. Beyond her performances, Anita was the founder and Artistic Director of the Avaton International Music Festival, which gained international recognition. The festival was renowned for hosting innovative performances and premieres.
